The Community Education and Cooperative Services Department acts as a liaison between the school district and the community to provide desired enrichment opportunities for citizens of all ages while maintaining a goal of improved academic achievement for our students. This department coordinates community education, summer school, after school education, and school building reservations.
Community and Cooperative Services Mission Statement - The mission of the Grass Lake Community Schools Community Education and Cooperative Services Department is to bring together school and community resources to meet each individual's unique needs by facilitating development of lifelong learning for all, encouraging citizen involvement and participation in education and community development, and building partnerships and promoting maximum cooperation and coordination of programs, services, and resources.

The Importance of school/community relationships - "What happens in a school affects the community, and what happens in the community affects the school. If teachers and school administrators expect to be successful in their primary mission of educating the community’s children, they need to know a great deal about the community and the families from which the children come." (Engaging Families & Communities, Pathways to Educational Success, Decker & Decker, 2000)
